Healthy Treasury Of Chinese Medicine

Almost every culture has developed it’s own style of herbal medicine and the Chinese tradition of healing herbs is very rich and dates back as four thousand years ago. On these pages you include plants that are traditionally used in Chinese medicine, and can be easily found and in our regions.

Respiratory diseases

Knotweed (Polygonum)

Treating lung disease and cough that accompanies the large production of mucus. Two teaspoons of dry woody spill with 2 dl of boiling water, leave for 5 minutes, strain and drink 2 to 3 times a day. You can prepare tea from the root of knotweed (50g per liter of water).

Elecampane (Inula helenium)

Encourages sweating, soothes bronchitis, hay fever (hayfever), cough and asthma. One teaspoon elecampane charged into a 2 dl of cold water and boiled briefly, filtrated and drink 2 to 3 times a day.

Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara)

Coltsfoot is good medicine for the treatment of respiratory diseases. Prevents and cures inflammation, helps with hoarseness, bronchitis and bronchial asthma, facilitates expectoration. Cough and phlegm deposits is taken 10g flower coltsfoot to 2 dl of boiling water and 1 tablespoon leaf coltsfoot to 1 cup of boiling water, and after half an hour filtrated. Tea is drunk before bedtime, warm or cold.

Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)

When this tea filtrated, boiled with a spoon of honey and drink 2-3 cups a day, every half hour or an hour after the spoon, it is a good remedy for pneumonia and inflammation of the trachea. Asthma and anticonvulsants: 1 teaspoon comminuted bark is introduced into 2 dl of boiling water, capped, allowed to cool, filtrated, and added during heat up. It is drunk 1 cup 1 hour before each meal.

Nettle (Urtica dioica)

Camphor (Cinnamonum camphora)
